Jeffrey Campbell and A Few

I am most definitely going through a Jeffrey Campbell phase.

In the past month, I visited Nordstrom on two separate occasions to try on Jeffrey Campbell Everly booties. I fell in love with them both times. They were extremely comfortable and stylish. Their sharp leather look and low heels also make them the perfect booties to wear for any occasions. Yet, I cannot justify spending $200 for a pair of cut-out boots that would most likely go out of style next year. Only if Jeffrey Campbell makes a similar, non-cut-out version...I would throw down the money without any second thoughts.

I am also loving the Zora. A pair of high-heeled black leather booties are second on my list, after finding the perfect low-heels.

Lastly, I am loving the Skybox Heel in Black Snack. I have never worn caged heels and would not mind adding them as statement pieces to my closet.

On an entirely different note, I have been hopelessly obsessed with one-piece swimsuits lately. My heart skipped a beat when I saw Mandalynn's Betty swimsuit piece. While minimalistic, its low cut back and plunging neckline make it extremely intriguing and subtly sexy.

So instead of doing any work this evening, I online window shopped for a good couple of hours. I apparently have a liking for black these days.

Boyfriend Jeans in Livermore

Brandy Melville LA Love embroidery tank
Brandy Melville cut-out bralette (similar)
H&M boyfriend jeans (similar)
Zara belt
Zara suede laced booties

The boyfriend jeans are a recent acquisition that I just cannot put down. Ever since I bought them in the beginning of March, I have worn them at least once week. For all the times I have worn them, I always paired them with heels, to prevent myself from looking too tomboy-ish and stubby. I scoured several stores, from Zara to American Eagle to Forever 21, before I found the perfect pair at H&M. H&M offered just the right amount of bagginess and softness that I was looking for in my boyfriend jeans. The jeans came slightly distressed, but I am thinking of distressing them even more. Next DIY project?

In celebration of my parents' wedding anniversary, my family headed north to the Livermore Valley Wine Country. I received a wine tasting crash course from the winery, including how to suck in air while keeping all the liquid in your mouth. It was pretty hard. Wine snobbery, here I come.

Walt Disney Concert Hall

H&M red blazer
H&M white zipper tee
Zara wrap mini skort
Lulu's black ankle strap heels (white)

I made my first visit to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA this past weekend. With the calm of a Saturday morning and the sun reflecting off the stainless steel, the stunning architecture did not fall short of my expectations. Walking through the metal city was like walking through a maze of "fat mirrors" and "skinny mirrors."

To juxtapose the monochromatic background, I paired an all white ensemble with my vivd red blazer. While the whites and the blazer's structured outline complemented the concert hall exterior, the red made the outfit stand out in its metal surrounding.

Tasty Tuesday - Chantal Guillon

My first macaron experience was with 'lette, back when they still went by Paulette. Ever since then, I have developed an insatiable craving for the delectable, yet expensive, treat. I could not be more heartbroken when my move back to the Bay Area separated me from my beloved macaron bakeries in Los Angeles.

Last weekend, my prayers for macarons came true when I visited Chantal Guillon near Stanford Shopping Center. I could not believe that I did not know about this little bakery! They have flavors from the classic espresso, vanilla, rose, to the unique lavender, red velvet, and coconut lime. All their macarons are baked locally in San Francisco by their French-American team!

Left to right: lavender poppy (my favorite), persian rose, green tea, red velvet, coconut lime, and salted caramel.

The thing I love the most about Chantal Guillon's macarons is the fillings. Unlike other macarons I have had, Chantal Guillon's fillings are creamy, rich in flavor, but subtly sweet. After inhaling an entire box of macarons, I have to admit that Chantal Guillon is now my favorite supplier go-to.

As I plan my summer trip to Europe (fingers crossed!), I cannot wait to pay homage to Ladurée and Pierre Hermé. One of my goals for my Europe trip is to try ALL the macarons!

You can find Chantal Guillon at 444 University Ave., Palo Alto, CA94301.
